The Sydney Royal Cattle Show is considered to be one of the most prominent and prestigious cattle shows in Australia. Often attracting International Judges, the value of winning a Sydney Royal ribbon, especially a Champion, is immense, and leads to record sale prices for the winning exhibitors.
6 breeds of Dairy cattle recognised by the RAS of NSW compete in the Dairy cattle competitions, attracting around 400 nominations and producing over 18,000 litres of milk through the Working Dairy over the 14 days of the Show. Up to 30 breeds of Beef cattle compete with up to 1,200 nominations and attracting exhibitors from all over Australia.
A highlight of the Cattle Show is the auction of the Charity Steer, a competing steer from the Purebred Steer & Carcase Competition, which to date has raised almost $200, 000 for the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.
THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE 2013 SHOW AND CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS.
