The Wine Experience

The Wine Experience Saturday 16 February 2013, 2pm to 6pm The Southee Complex, Sydney Showground The Wine Experience is our NEW consumer focused event where wine lovers will have the chance to taste their way around 1,000 Australian medal winning wines. This event is the only one of its kind during the Macquarie Group Sydney Royal Wine Show.

Wait staff will be on hand to pour tasters of the featured wines which will include the newly-awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal and Trophy-winning wines – judged by a panel of experts led by Sydney Royal Wine Show Chairman of Judges Iain Riggs.

Guests will also have the opportunity to sample a range of medal-winning gourmet products from the Sydney Royal Fine Food and Cheese and Dairy Produce Shows. Chefs will be on hand carving hams as well as a generous offering of a selection breads, dips, olives and cheeses - the perfect accompaniment to the prized wines.

For those keen to learn more about their favourite medal-winning drops, complimentary walking tours are the perfect opportunity for guests to ask questions, gain insights and sample some of the highlights all under the guidance of the Sydney Royal Wine Show judges.

Riedel Glass Tasting

Glassware company Riedel are holding their renowned Glass Tasting at The Wine Experience. Learn about Riedel products, proper wine glass usage and helpful tips about wine tasting. The class will use the Vinum XL Tasting Set which includes four glasses to take home as a gift: Riesling, Oaked Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet (RRP $280). The Wine Experience will be held in Southee Pavillion, Sydney Showground, on the corner of Showground Road and Grand Parade. Patrons consuming alcohol at the event are encouraged to catch public transport to Olympic Park. View the Cityrail timetable here. Alternatively, parking is available via the P1 and P6 parking stations indicated on the map.
